Backgammon game piecesInspired by my Persian heritage, where backgammon is a beloved pastime, this set is a blend of cultural pride and modern design. I crafted the checkers from resin, meticulously vacuum-forming and perfecting each piece through multiple iterations. The board’s striking face is designed in Adobe Illustrator and laser-cut from colorful acrylic.
This project is a fusion of tradition, design, and hands-on creation, bringing a timeless game to life with a fresh, contemporary twist.

Step 1: Vacuum Forming
Vacuum form checker molds using existing backgammon checkers.
De-gas resin mixture to remove air bubbles and ensure nice finish
Step 2: Resin Casting
Add in metallic flakes and paint globs for an artistic touch
Many iterations and adjustments later, these were the final product
Draft the pieces in Adobe Illustrator, and laser-cut out of colorful acrylic
